Nike wanted to raise awareness of the sustainability advancements they’ve made within distribution and packaging, as well as their wider journey toward zero carbon and zero waste. So we created a web AR experience that helps athletes engage with the brand’s impressive sustainability mission.
We worked with Nike to design bespoke shipping boxes featuring enigmatic AR markers. In the spirit of the project, Nike sourced boxes made solely from certified paper that produces half as much carbon as traditional cardboard. When the AR marker is scanned, an animated 3D AR experience pops up - perfectly mapped to the top of the box - telling the story of Nike’s commitment to sustainability.
The AR experience unfolded into an eco-friendly habitat. It depicted a forest,
representing the brand’s commitment to planting more trees, and featured a logistics plant surrounded by solar panels and rotating windmills, demonstrating how it’s powered by clean energy.
We partnered with 8th Wall to make the activation as accessible and user-friendly as possible. Nike customers could access further information by visiting the accompanying Move To Zero microsite, accessed via hotspots within the AR experience.
